Taiwanese inventors walked away with eight gold, nine silver and 61 bronze medals at the Concours Lépine, an invention show in Paris which is in its 115th year.

The group won four golds and two silvers for their inventions which were connected to the organization’s international relief efforts.
One of the gold prize inventions from Taiwan was a collapsible multi-purpose umbrella invented by an elementary school student – Cheng Chien-ting, and his teacher Chen Hung-wei, from Miaoli County’s Gongguan Elementary School.
