A delegation of officials is in China for meetings regarding 32 Taiwanese fraud suspects being held there.
The 32 suspects were arrested in Malaysia, where they had allegedly been operating a fraud ring targeting people in China. Malaysia sent the Taiwanese nationals to China.
The Taiwanese delegation will discuss the case with their Chinese counterparts and examine the evidence against the suspects. The delegation’s head, justice ministry official Chen Wen-chi, said before departing that the delegation will also raise the possibility of visiting the suspects.
