Taiwan’s gas and diesel prices are set to rise again this week. The new prices will go into effect at midnight on Sunday, moving into Monday morning.

The state-run oil company, CPC Corporation, Taiwan, has announced that prices will go up by NT$0.3 per liter for both gas and diesel (that’s about US$0.01). Of the different type of gas and diesel for sale in Taiwan, the price for 95 octane unleaded will hit a seven-month high.

The new prices per liter will be: for super diesel, NT$20.4; for 92 octane unleaded, NT$22.9; for 95 octane unleaded, NT$24.4; and for 98 octane unleaded, NT$26.4 per liter.

The local price hike follows a rise in international crude oil prices. CPC said the rise was triggered by dropping production in the Canadian oil sands area due to a massive wildfire and in Nigeria because of oil pipe damage.
