Shares in Taiwan closed higher Tuesday, boosted by a technical rebound by Apple suppliers after Apple shares had a solid showing on Wall Street overnight.

The weighted index on the Taiwan Stock Exchange closed up 72.88 points, or 0.90 percent, at 8,140.48.
