The Italy-Taiwan Parliamentary Group has hosted a dinner party to celebrate the inauguration of Taiwan’s new President Tsai Ing-wen.
The dinner party took place on Saturday evening, local time. Over one hundred representatives from local businesses, political parties, academia, think tanks, media, and the local Chinese-speaking community attended.
Italian Senator and president of the Italy-Taiwan Parliamentary Group, Lucio Malan, congratulated Tsai Ing-wen on her inauguration. Malan said he is confident that Taiwan’s new government will continue to work with the parliamentary group to improve bilateral ties.
