President Tsai Ing-wen says the strengthening of cyber security in government agencies will be monitored by top officials. Tsai was speaking on Tuesday while meeting with US Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Industry and Analysis, Marcus Jadotte in Taipei.

Tsai said in April, US President Obama set up a committee and framework for intensifying cyber security in the nation. She said in doing so, the US managed to lower the risks of cyber attacks on key infrastructure. Tsai said what the US is able to do is very important to all countries including Taiwan. She said there will be top officials to protect national security by intensifying security in the cyber world.

She also said that cyber security is an important factor in determining the success of certain industries such as the Internet of Things and other e-commerce websites, which the government is trying to promote.
