The justice ministry has pledged to speed up the gay marriage legislation in Taiwan. That’s the word from Justice Minister Chiu Tai-shan on Monday.
Chiu was responding to a lawmaker’s request for a timetable for the legislation.
Chiu said that the justice ministry has already entrusted Tsing Hua University to conduct a legal analysis of the legislation as well as its social impact.
Chiu said he supports the legislation although it would be quite complicated if it would require a revision of articles concerning family members under the civil law.
