A new book on Taiwan’s tea and its health benefits has been published by Margaret Ledoux. Ledoux lived in Taiwan from 2008 to 2011 as her husband was the representative of Taipei’s European trade office.
Ledoux said her health started going downhill from serious air pollution in the different Asian cities where she and her husband had been stationed. Friends gave her locally grown tea after they heard of her condition and advised her to drink it at least three times a day. Ledoux claims her health improved suddenly and dramatically. That prompted her to study Taiwanese tea and local tea ceremony customs. From 2012, her interest in Taiwan-grown tea extended to studying Chinese literature and collecting poems about tea.
Ledoux wrote her book on tea after returning to Brussels. She said her study has enabled her to swap notes on tea culture with people from different countries. She said she hopes more people will come to appreciate the beauty and aroma of Taiwan teas.
