Shares in Taiwan closed higher Tuesday, led by the bellwether electronics sector, as investors were encouraged by an upswing in U.S. and European stocks.
The weighted index on the Taiwan Stock Exchange closed up 82.79 points, or 0.96 percent, at 8,679.90.
