Shares in Taiwan closed higher Tuesday as investors were encouraged by solid gains on Wall Street and the European markets amid reduced worries over a possible departure by the United Kingdom from the European Union.
The weighted index on the Taiwan Stock Exchange ended up 58.93 points, or 0.68 percent, at the day's high of 8,684.85.
