Premier Lin Chuan says Taiwan should consider adding cooperation on disease prevention to its New Southbound Policy.
The policy is designed to strengthen Taiwan’s ties with Southeast Asia and India.
After a hearing a health ministry report on Taiwan’s disease prevention efforts Thursday, Lin said that stopping the spread of disease is important in an era of climate change and increased travel. He said that disease prevention has no borders and that the government should strengthen cooperation with other countries on stopping the spread of disease in the future.
Lin said that Taiwan should share its successes in preventing infectious diseases with other countries. He said the government should consider making a policy to cooperate with Southeast Asia and India on disease prevention.
