Taiwan’s gas and diesel prices are set to drop this week. The new prices will go into effect at midnight on Sunday, moving into Monday morning.
The state-run oil company, CPC Corporation, Taiwan, has announced that prices will go down by NT$0.2 per liter for both gas and diesel (that’s about US$0.006).
The new prices per liter will be: for super diesel, NT$20.9; for 92 octane unleaded, NT$23.4; for 95 octane unleaded, NT$24.9; and for 98 octane unleaded, NT$26.9 per liter.
The local price drop follows a decrease in international crude oil prices. CPC said the drop was triggered by concerns that Britain’s recent vote to leave the European Union might cause a slowdown in the EU economy. Although, they said the fall was slightly offset by a rise in prices due to the looming strike in Norwegian oil and gas fields.
