Tsai encourages military school grads to march forward

President Tsai Ing-wen offered encouragement to military school graduates on Monday at the Republic of China Military Academy in Kaohsiung.

During her speech, Tsai relayed the expectations of the Taiwanese people to the graduates.

“The most important task for the military is to ensure the safety of the Taiwanese people. Whenever conflicts and disasters occur, the ROC army is always at the frontline. Whether it is completing one’s military training, or to engaging in relief missions, as long as we’re working hard to safeguard our people from harm, we are creating our own moments of glory," said Tsai.

Tsai said that related government agencies at all levels will be involved in reforming the nation’s defense strategies. She said that reforms would aim to eliminate the superficial efforts of the past, as well as inefficient uses of manpower and resources. Tsai said the government will enable the people to see concrete results in the future.
