Foreign ministry official Chen Chun-shen says there have been no changes in Taiwan’s diplomatic relations with Sao Tome and Principe. That’s as the African island nation prepares to hold its presidential election on July 17.

Chen also said at a press conference on Tuesday that Taiwan’s relations with its two other African allies, Swaziland and Burkina Faso, are stable.

Meanwhile, a delegation led by Burkina Faso’s transportation minister, Souleymane Soulama, arrived in Taiwan on Monday. The foreign ministry said Tuesday that the delegation from Taiwan’s African ally is on a five-day trip to strengthen cooperation in the area of transportation.

It is Soulama’s first trip to Taiwan. In addition to visiting Taiwan’s transportation ministry, Soulama will tour the Civil Aviation Administration, Taichung Airport, the Directorate General of Highways, and the Central Weather Bureau.
