Panama’s Minister of Public Security, Alexis Bethancourt Yau, has thanked Taiwan for a donation of 45 police patrol vehicles.
Bethancourt expressed his thanks at a luncheon hosted by Taiwan’s ambassador to Panama, Liu Der-li, on Friday. Bethancourt said that the patrol vehicles will help Panama’s police forces tackle and prevent crime, making Panama’s communities safer places. He also told the ambassador about Panama’s plans to build a center aimed at helping young inmates reintegrate into society as well as a shelter for the children of prisoners.
