The government is working hard on exploring international markets and boosting Taiwan’s economy. That’s the word from President Tsai Ing-wen on Tuesday.
Tsai was speaking at the reception of the 22nd returning delegation of the World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce, an organization of Taiwan’s businesspeople abroad. Tsai praised the groups for establishing a business presence all around the world. She especially thanked them for connecting Taiwan’s business with the international market, facilitating the signing of trade pacts, and their disaster relief efforts.
Tsai said the government is working hard to boost business both locally and abroad.
The president said, "Taiwan is establishing businesses in all areas of the world, which is a showcase of our nation’s growing influence. Take our Southbound Policy as an example, we hope it will help transfer capital to other countries and open up more options for our businesspeople abroad. We also welcome entrepreneurs to explore business opportunities back here in Taiwan. We have established five new creative industries in the hope of boosting our economy."
Tsai said she hopes all Taiwan’s entrepreneurs can come together to create new business opportunities, raise wages, and promote the flow of Taiwan’s professional talent.
