Premier Jiang Yi-huah attended Salvadorian president Sanchez Ceren’s inauguration on Sunday, local time. Sanchez has replaced outgoing President Mauricio Funes.
Jiang attended the event as a special envoy from Taiwan.
The heads of state of Costa Rica, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic and Bolivia were also at Sunday’s inauguration.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, Jiang exchanged pleasantries with Prince Felipe de Borbon of Spain, Dominican President Danilo Medina and US emissary Maria Contreras-Sweet.
The premier is now on his way to Los Angeles, where he will visit the Reagan Library and the Getty Center.
Jiang is also scheduled to meet with Taiwanese expatriates during his stopover in Los Angeles.
