The Tourism Bureau has introduced a campaign to attract more Thai visitors to Taiwan.
Taiwan has waived visa requirements Thai nationals for a one-year trial period in a move designed to boost tourism. The trial period started August 1 and will run until July 31 next year.
The Tourism Bureau campaign offers Thai nationals gifts, discounts, and specials covering air travel and travel through a number of popular tourist areas.
In July, before the visa waiver trial began, Taiwan’s Central News Agency reported strong growth in the number of Thai visitors, with arrivals up nearly 88% between January and May.
