The South Branch of the National Palace Museum (NPM) is set to reopen its main hall on Tuesday. The hall has been closed since mid-April for work to repair leaks in a glass wall.
The museum, located in Taibao City, Chiayi County, had been plagued by leaks ever since its grand opening at the end of last year. The location of the leaks was a massive curved glass wall, which is composed of more than 4,000 pieces of glass in many different sizes.
The Construction and Planning Agency on Sunday guaranteed that the hall will no longer have to deal with leaks once the repairs are completed.
