Labor groups have held a protest against the removal of seven national holidays from the calendar. Protestors gathered Sunday in front of the Presidential Office carrying banners written with their own blood.
The Cabinet passed an amendment to the Labor Standards Act in June axing seven national holidays in favor of a more flexible weekly work schedule. Close to 200 labor representatives participated in Sunday's protest.
Some of the protestors have cut their fingers during the protest to further bloody their banner.
The bloodied banner was taken into the Presidential Office Building by a government official.
