The foreign ministry has announced that a joint committee on cooperation between Taiwan and Burkina Faso will meet at the end of September.
Burkina Faso is one of Taiwan’s 22 diplomatic allies. The joint cooperation committee holds its meetings once every two years. The foreign ministry says that Burkina Faso will host this year’s committee meeting. Deputy Foreign Minister Wu Chih-chung will represent Taiwan at the meeting.
Meanwhile, the foreign ministry says that Foreign Minister David Lee will attend the inauguration of Sao Tome and Principe’s new president Evaristo Carvalho. The inauguration will take place on Saturday. Lee will lead a Taiwanese delegation to the event as President Tsai Ing-wen’s special envoy.
