Legislature President Su Jia-Chyuan says that pension reforms should proceed with fairness and in consideration of people’s feelings.
He made the comment Monday at the legislature. He was answering questions about a meeting on pension reform that he and other senior officials had with President Tsai Ing-wen on Sunday.
“The pension reform process needs to take into consideration the feelings of people from all walks of life," said Su.
"We should not proceed with drastic measures," he said. "We should set our sights firmly on reforms while respecting the dignity of people from every profession.”
Su said that the president asked everyone to assist in the pension reform committee’s efforts and to reach a consensus as quickly as possible.
