Taiwan and the US have begun discussions about speeding up entry procedures for citizens of both nations.
Taiwan became a member of the United States’ Global Entry program in 2010, giving Taiwanese passport holders visa-free access to the US. This year, the two nations aim to further streamline the entry process.
They plan to build a shared online database that will allow Taiwanese citizens to register their personal information. After completing an interview, applicants can become a member of the new program and enjoy a zero-delay entry process at major US airports. Taiwan will reciprocate by allowing US passport holders to participate in its E-Gate system.
