The Taiwan Water Corporation has announced that it has finished restoring water to homes in Kaohsiung.
More than 700,000 homes in the Greater Kaohsiung Area lost water after Typhoon Meranti passed near southern Taiwan on Wednesday. The storm left water in the Gaoping River too turbid to use. The company was able to restore water to many of the affected homes by diverting water from other sources nearby. All homes in the Kaohsiung area had their water turned on again by Friday evening.
The Taiwan Water Corporation also reports that water has been restored to 1500 homes on the island of Little Liuchiu, off Taiwan’s southwest coast.
