Taiwan’s new tourism bureau chief, Chou Yung-hui, has vowed to speed up the growth of the nation’s tourism industry. He was speaking on Monday during a ceremony to mark his first day in office.
During the ceremony Chou received high praise for his successful promotion of Taiwan’s railway service to Japanese tourists. That was back when he headed the Taiwan Railway Administration. Chou said he is confident he can help the bureau reach the goal of attracting two million Japanese tourists to visit Taiwan within one year, instead of within the original timeline of two years.
Chou also spoke about the importance of innovation. He said he will promote Taiwan tourism across different media platforms in order to reach more new customers.
