Taiwan’s embassy in Nicaragua held a reception on October 4 to celebrate National Day.
The event was attended by top officials including Nicaragua’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Samuel Santos, Presidential advisor Denis Moncada, Vice Minister of Foreign Cooperation Arlette Marenco, Vice Minister of the National Assembly Iris Montenegro, and a number of Cabinet ministers.
The national anthem and a film introducing Taiwan kicked off the event. Taiwan’s ambassador to Nicaragua, Rolando Chuang, also spoke briefly to the crowd and made a toast to the longtime friendship between the two countries.
Over 300 government officials and overseas Taiwanese attended the festive event. Nicaragua’s presidential office also sent flowers to congratulate Taiwan on its 105th anniversary.
