Organizers are busy assembling guest lists ahead of next Monday’s National Day celebrations in Taiwan. Foreign ministry spokesperson Eleanor Wang spoke on Tuesday about the latest figures for the day.
Wang said, "Last year there were 355 foreign special guests, or roughly 350. This year, the latest number is about 360. So also approximately 350."
Many of Taiwan’s diplomatic allies will be sending delegations and senior officials, including the head of the Marshall Islands’ legislature, and Burkina Faso’s foreign minister. There will also be legislative delegations from Japan, the Central American Parliament, the European Parliament, Belgium, the UK, Germany, Portugal, the US and Canada.
Wang said that many international media outfits will also be in Taiwan to report on the celebrations.
