Taiwan stock closed up 0.85%

Shares in Taiwan closed above the 9,300-point mark Thursday as buying emerged to lift the leading electronics sector.

The weighted index on the Taiwan Stock Exchange closed up 78.78 points, or 0.85 percent, at the day's high of 9,320.94.
