Starting on Wednesday, air travelers will be able to fly between Taipei and Moscow. That’s in line with a new air service agreement that Taiwan and Russia signed last October, following 20 years of negotiations.

The Moscow-based Transaero Airlines will use a Boeing 767 for the maiden flight. The total flying time between the two cities will be 11 hours and 50 minutes. The round-trip service will be offered once a week, operating as a code-share with China Airlines, which is Taiwan’s biggest carrier.

Under the agreement, the two countries will jointly operate 28 flights per week. Taiwan’s Civil Aeronautics Administration says that regular flights will promote tourism and businesses in both countries.
