Taiwan’s main trade promotion body is expecting to see “good results” for Taiwanese exporters at the annual Expo Mariano Roque Alonso in Paraguay.
According to the Taiwan External Trade Development Council’s statement on Tuesday, the 16-day show, which opened last Saturday, is one of Paraguay’s most important trade shows. It features products and services from a wide range of sectors, including the livestock and automobile industries.
The council said many Taiwanese exhibitors are actively seeking local sales partners and investment opportunities. It also said the Taiwan pavilion attracted crowds. The Taiwan pavilion this year consists of 20 exhibitors representing the information and communications technology, bicycle, auto parts, hardware, and cosmetics industries.
Taiwan and Paraguay have close ties. Paraguay is Taiwan’s only diplomatic ally in South America. The council said it expects even stronger trade relations this year because of the potential for an upswing in business.
