A New Taipei City biotech alliance has signed a cooperation agreement with NZBIO, a New Zealand-based biotechnology organization.
New Taipei City is home to a quarter of Taiwan’s biotech firms. These firms focus on products including medical equipment, special chemicals, and nutritional supplements.
The agreement, signed on Wednesday, will help New Taipei City’s biotech firms gain access to quality raw materials. It will also give New Zealand-based firms access to technology developed by Taiwanese biotech companies.
New Taipei City mayor Eric Chu said that the agreement will help create business opportunities as well as jobs for young people.
