Foreign experts arrive to assist air crash investigation
Assistance from abroad

Five foreign experts have flown to Taiwan to help with investigation of an air crash that happened earlier this week.

An airplane operated by Taiwan’s TransAsia Airways crashed into a residential area on the outlying island of Penghu on Wednesday, killing 48 people and injuring 15. So far 44 victims have been identified, and the remaining are still undergoing DNA testing. The testing is expected to be completed Saturday.

On Saturday five foreign experts arrived in Penghu to provide assistance to Taiwanese investigators. The experts were sent by the French-Italian aircraft manufacturer ATR, which built the plane, and Canada’s PWC, which built the engines.
