Taiwanese bands, including Mayday, are rocking the audience at this year’s Summer Sonic music festival in the Japanese cities Tokyo and Osaka.
The rain on Saturday did not dampen the spirits of Japanese music fans in Osaka, where Taiwanese rock band Mayday stirred up the crowd with three of its Japanese songs, along with Mandarin hit songs.
Mayday first performed at the Summer Sonic festival in 2012, becoming the first Taiwanese band to hit the stage at both the Tokyo and Osaka venues of the annual rock festival.
In Tokyo, Taiwanese black metal band ChthoniC and pop-rock band Magic Ｐower also excited fans with their music on Saturday.
Mayday is scheduled to perform in Tokyo on Sunday, while ChthoniC is expected to appear in Osaka on Sunday.
Three other Taiwanese bands – Cosmos People, LTK, Commune, and APHASIA – are also scheduled to take to the stage in Tokyo on Sunday.
