The fourth ministerial-level science and technological cooperation meeting between Taiwan and the Philippines opens in Manila on Tuesday.
This year’s meeting is centered on research on oceans, typhoons and earthquakes. The two sides will also discuss personnel exchange and scholarship programs.
Tuesday’s opening ceremony was jointly held by Taiwan’s Minister of Science and Technology San-cheng Chang and his Philippine counterpart Amelia Guevar.
Chang is the first minister of science and technology to attend the meeting since the ministry was upgraded from the National Science Council. He believes the meeting will benefit both sides.
