This week, we revisit three major historical events that shaped the world. In 1975, Chiang Kai-shek, the leader who ruled Taiwan under martial law, passed away, marking a turning point in the island’s history. In 1815, the eruption of Mount Tambora triggered a global climate disaster, leading to the infamous “Year Without a Summer.” And in 1998, the Good Friday Agreement brought hope for peace in Northern Ireland.
