The National Police Agency has vowed to maintain social order before and during Election Day.

To prevent violence and disorder on Election Day, 65,000 police officers have been mobilized to ensure that voting and vote counting will be smooth.
On Thursday, National Police Agency head Chen Ja-chin said that a police crackdown on gangsters and illegal betting on election results had been “effective”.
Chen also said that the police have maintained fairness and impartiality when cracking down on the spread of fake news, regardless of posters’ party affiliation. Chen denied political bias in favor of the ruling DPP, calling such allegations a smear tactic.
