Taiwan’s Culture Ministry will assemble a 100-person performance team to participate at the Cultural Olympiad, which will be held alongside the 2024 Paris Olympics. This was announced by Culture Minister Shih Che (史哲) on Wednesday at the Legislature.
Shih explained to promote Taiwan's cultural soft power, the Culture Ministry will showcase Taiwanese performances from July to August in the form of an international exhibition at La Villette, the official venue.
The 100-person Taiwanese team includes performers and crew from various disciplines. They will perform in batches, presenting Taiwanese cultural elements through innovative forms, and showcasing Taiwan's unique culture.
The Culture Ministry is placing significant emphasis on this matter. Recently, Taiwan's Cultural Center in Paris collaborated with a venue in Switzerland to co-create the Festival Programme Commune’s series of “Taiwan Spotlight” events. These feature performances, visual arts exhibitions, film screenings, and more, serving as a prelude to Taiwan's upcoming participation at the Cultural Olympiad.
