The General Assembly of Chinese Culture announced on Monday that the 2024 Presidential Office Concert will be a show of support for Taiwan’s Olympic athletes. The concert will take place at the main plaza of the National Theater and Concert Hall in Taipei at 7 p.m. on July 20.

General Association of Chinese Culture Secretary-General Li Hou-ching (李厚慶) said this event marks the first concert since 1991 that will pay homage to the Olympic Games. He said this year’s theme, “Power of Freedom,” was selected to highlight the importance of freedom in arts, culture, and sports.

The concert schedule is based on the different rounds of the Olympic Games, and performances and program segments will incorporate sports. MixCode, a creative team responsible for creating visuals for the Golden Melody Awards, the Taipei Golden Horse Awards, and other major events, is leading concert design.

Various television, radio, and online platforms including CTS Main Channel, TaiwanPlus, SET News, Rti, and the official website of the Presidential Office Building will host live coverage of the entire event which is free and open to the public.

The 2024 Olympic Games will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11. Taiwanese athletes are preparing to compete in 47 categories including table tennis, badminton, shooting, archery, boxing, and women’s weightlifting.
